This solution uses an IMPACT camera to position a robot guidance adhesive application system. The camera finds the missing sections of adhesive, then sends those coordinates to a robot using TCP/IP communications.

This application demo features a four-camera inspection system that verifies the positioning of adhesive beads on automotive panels. The four IMPACT devices shown in this application are set up in a master-slave configuration so that inspection results from 4 different cameras can be combined into one master vision device that is linked to the reject mechanism in the production line. This application demo features the power and flexibility of the IMPACT Control Panel Manager. Through a set of pre-configured panels, the easy to use setup screens allow operators to accurately detect for misplaced or missing adhesive.

Automotive Console Faceplate Inspection

This solution uses an IMPACT 9200, a high resolution C-Series camera (1600 x 1200 pixels). The application inspects the print quality of text and labels on panels, dials, and buttons on face plates used in car stereo systems. This is a complete, standalone system with the camera, lighting, optics, and personal computer enclosed in one unit.

Bearing Inspection

This application uses the image of a steel bearing assembly captured with an IMPACT A20 smart camera and a 3-inch diffused Red LED ring light. The IMPACT vision system measures the inner and outer diameters of the bearing raceway and verifies that it contains the correct number of bearings.

This application demo features a colored fuse inspection application where an IMPACT T23 Color Camera is used to inspect a fuse panel. This application requires the vision system to verify that each fuse is plugged into the appropriate location, and to check for missing and extra fuses. Using the Color Checker tool available in VPM, an ROI is placed over each fuse where a template of the individual fuse background color is trained. This same tool is also used to detect an absence of a fuse, or if a fuse is plugged into a location where it is supposed to be left vacant. In this application, the Color Checker tool alone is able to fulfill 3 inspection requirements, i.e. incorrect fuse; missing and extra fuse. Having the ability to fulfill multiple inspections with a single tool means faster inspection speeds so customers can achieve higher production throughput. This application example was developed by PPT VISION application engineers and is not specific to a particular installed application. The vision program is written so it can be used in other similar applications, such as color verification for wiring/cables, push buttons, or other similar colored products. Color Fuse Inspection

Registration Marking Identification Application

This solution uses an IMPACT camera to position a servo-controlled adhesive application system. The camera finds the coordinates of a registration mark on the substrate material, then sends those coordinates to a Programmable Logic Controller using Ethernet/IP communications.
